Fabulous late 1920’s Japanese wind-up animated clock. Metal and glass with strong Art Deco design elements throughout. Pictured on page 21 of Philip Collins book’Pastime, Telling Time From 1879 To 1969′. This clock is wound up all the way and not running. It’s missing one of the animated fish which are normally inside the glass’aquarium’ sphere, and the other fish is detached. The mechanism will need servicing, t. He exsisting fish needs to be re-attached, and a mate found or made, (you can use the original fish for casting or 3-D printing a copy). When working properly both fish move back and forth as if swimming while the clock ticks. The revolving Ball indicates the Hours and Minutes. Lock is outstanding cosmetically as you see. The clockworks mechanism looks excellent and the balance moves freely. The design is very impressive in execution and detail. Measures about 5-3/8″ tall, and about 4-5/8″ long.
